A warning has been issued to the general public, advising them not to approach the suspect, who has years of experience in the military and may be hiding out in a national forest to the east of Seattle.
A former soldier who is accused of kidnapping and killing his three daughters in the state of Washington is currently the subject of a manhunt being conducted.
It has been reported by law enforcement that Travis Decker, 32 years old, has “extensive” military experience and may present a “significant risk,” although they are unsure whether or not he is armed.
The United States Marshals Service, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the police are all helping to search isolated forested areas using aircraft and drones. On Friday, the girl’s mother reported that her three kids, ages nine, eight, and five, were gone.
Decker had been scheduled to visit for three hours, but he did not return. This prompted the mother to have her girls declared missing. In an effort to locate the white pickup truck that Decker is thought to reside in, the Wenatchee Police Department initiated the search earlier this weekend.
According to the police, the truck was discovered on Monday close to a campground west of Leavenworth, which is around 70 miles east of Seattle. The remains of the girls were discovered in “relatively close proximity,” according to the police.

It was reported to the authorities by their mother that the girls did not come back as scheduled at eight o’clock on Friday evening and that Travis Decker’s phone went straight to voicemail. “She expressed concern because Decker reportedly has never done this before and… is currently experiencing some mental health issues,” stated a detective for the Wenatchee police.
Decker is currently dealing with some mental health issues. According to the officials, Decker joined the United States Army in 2013, and then in 2021, he transferred to the Washington National Guard. Over the course of the previous several years, he has been working part-time, but he ceased attending drills approximately one year ago.
“Around 3:45 p.m. yesterday (June 2), a CCSO Forest Service Deputy, conducting patrol on his motorcycle, located Mr. Decker’s vehicle in a remote area, approx. 17 miles up the road, finally discovering the three dead children, and Mr. Decker was nowhere to be found.
