UK prosecutors say 21 charges authorised against Andrew and Tristan Tate

Andrew and Tristan Tate will be charged with a total of 21 offenses upon their return to the United Kingdom, including rape, actual bodily injury, and human trafficking, according to the prosecutors, who have confirmed the entire list of charges for the first time.

Additionally, the Crown Prosecution Service stated that it had authorized the charges that were to be brought against the brothers in the year 2024, prior to the issuance of an extradition warrant to bring them back from Romania.

CPS stated that “the domestic criminal matters in Romania must be settled first” in reference to the two British-Americans who are currently being investigated in Romania. They are facing a number of charges, all of which they have denied.

After receiving a file of evidence from Bedfordshire Police about claims made in the United Kingdom, the Crown Prosecution Service made the decision to press charges.

Andrew Tate, a 38-year-old influencer and former kickboxer, is facing ten charges relating to three alleged victims, including rape, actual bodily harm, human trafficking, and directing prostitution for benefit, according to the Child Protective Services.

Tristan Tate, who is 36 years old, is being charged with eleven offenses related to a single claimed victim. These offenses include rape, actual bodily harm, and human trafficking.

They were both born in the United States, but after their parents split, they relocated to Luton, which is located in the United Kingdom, with their mother.

Andrew Tate, who describes himself as a misogynist, has created a tremendous online presence in recent years. He has more than ten million followers on X, where he shares his lifestyle, which includes yachts, private jets, and fast automobiles.

In December of 2022, he and his brother were taken into custody for the first time in Romania. Andrew was accused of rape and human trafficking, while Tristan was suspected of being involved in human trafficking.

They both rejected the allegations and were placed under house arrest for a period of several months.  In August of 2024, a year and a half later, they were confronted with new claims in Romania, which included having sexual relations with a juvenile and trafficking young individuals. All of these allegations are denied by them.

Independently, the two individuals were taken into custody in Bucharest in March of 2024, following the announcement made by Bedfordshire Police that they had secured an arrest warrant in connection with claims of rape and trafficking

The claims made against the brothers in the United Kingdom extend back to between the years 2012 and 2015, according to their legal representatives.  The Tates stated that they “categorically reject all charges” and that they were “very innocent men” at the time when the arrest warrant was issued.

A court in Romania decided that Andrew and Tristan Tate could only be extradited to the United Kingdom after the separate processes that were being brought against them in Romania had been completed.

When it happened, they were released from custody.  In the beginning of this year, the prosecution unexpectedly revoked a travel prohibition that had been in place for two years. Following this, the brothers traveled by private aircraft from Romania to the state of Florida in the United States of America in February of 2025.

Reporters were informed that “innocent men don’t run from anything” when they returned to Romania in March of 2025. The brothers assert that they became registered with the authorities in Bucharest as a matter of legal need in order to indicate that they are in compliance with an ongoing criminal investigation. Andrew made a commitment to clear his name in Romania as well as in the United Kingdom, but he did not specify if he would remain in Romania.
