Tyler Perry New Movie Straw
Taraji P. Henson is an expert at managing several projects at once.
At Tuesday, June 3’s Special New York Screening of Tyler Perry new movie Straw, the 54-year-old actress told that she shot her new Netflix movie in record time while filming her Peacock limited series on true crime, Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist.
Henson adds, “They worked it out with my schedule.” “[At the time of filming Straw], I was also working on Fight Night.”
“I spent four days shooting this and returned immediately to Fight Night,” she continues.
According to Tyler Perry, who wrote, produced, and directed the movie, the entire Straw crew worked together to ensure that they got the footage they required for the movie in the limited amount of time Henson had available.
“We’re a fantastic team, and we all understand our roles.” “We worked it out in the four days that Taraji had available.”

Despite her hectic schedule, Henson, who previously collaborated with Perry on the 2018 movie Acrimony, believes it was an obvious choice to work with the celebrated director once more.
She was particularly tempted to play a part this complicated.
At the screening, Henson says, “Every time he sends me a script, he challenges me and himself.”
Every time, he raises the stakes. And he knows I enjoy a good challenge, so I appreciate that.
According to the film’s synopsis, Tyler Perry’s Straw centres on Janiyah (Henson), a single mother whose “world unravels in chaos as her day goes from bad to worse to catastrophic as she struggles to care for her ill daughter.”

“Pushed to the brink by a world that seems indifferent to her existence, she’s forced to confront impossible choices in a society that offers her no safety net.”
Henson claims that she frequently chooses characters that “scare the hell out of me,” and Janiyah was no exception.
She acknowledges, “Janiyah did scare me a lot.” I love giving the voiceless a voice, which is why I was drawn to this character.
I would like everyone who identifies with Janiyah to know that they are not alone and that I see them.
Teyana Taylor, Sherri Shepherd, Glynn Turman, Sinbad, and Rockmond Dunbar are also featured in the film.
On June 6, Tyler Perry’s Straw will launch on Netflix worldwide.
The recent Beauty in Black, She the People, and The Six Triple Eight are just a few of the hits that mega producer, writer, director, and actor Tyler Perry has been churning out for his fan base since he partnered with Netflix.

As of Thursday, June 6, Straw, a new heartbreaking drama, has joined the ranks. Based on the movie’s premise, I must add this to my list of must-sees because it sounds a lot like one of my favourite Denzel Washington films.
In Straw, Perry teams up with Taraji P. Henson, another member of Hollywood aristocracy.
This is the fourth time the two have appeared together on the big screen, after Acrimony, The Family that Preys, and I Can Do Bad All By Myself.
Henson portrays Janiyah, a struggling single mother who is at her wits’ end attempting to care for her child, in the film, which is based on a story written and directed by Perry.
Netflix teases: “As a single mother battles to care for her sick daughter, her day goes from awful to worse to disastrous, and her entire world falls apart.
She is pushed to the edge by a society that doesn’t seem to care about her and forces her to make difficult decisions in a place where there is no safety net.
