Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley are currently unrestricted. The couple, who were convicted of tax evasion and bank fraud the previous year, were formally released on Wednesday, May 28, just one day after receiving a full pardon from President Donald Trump. They were incarcerated in separate facilities in January 2023.

Todd, 56, was released from the Federal Prison Camp Pensacola in Florida. His daughter Savannah Chrisley was present to retrieve him, while Julie was retrieved by their son Grayson Chrisley at the Federal Medical Centre in Lexington, Kentucky.

On May 28, Savannah expressed her gratitude to reporters, including TMZ, for her father’s release, stating, “This process has been absolutely insane and I’m just so grateful that I’m gonna leave here with my dad.”  “I arrived at this location at 2 a.m. last night and have not since retired to bed.”  I am merely a daughter who desires to accompany her father home.

Savannah also stated that her father was “astonished” to learn that he was being released, as the information “emerged out of thin air.”

Todd and Julie were convicted of tax evasion and bank fraud in 2022, and they were then reported to prison in January 2023, after being first indicted in 2019.  The couple’s sentences were subsequently reduced after they were initially sentenced to a combined 19 years in prison.

On Tuesday, May 27, President Trump declared that the reality personalities had been granted full pardons.

Trump stated in a telephone conversation with Todd and Julie’s children that the Chrisleys were “terrific people” who were “given a pretty harsh treatment, based on what I’m hearing.”

“It is a terrible thing, but it is also a great thing, because your parents will be free and clean,” the president stated during the call.  “I am optimistic that we will be able to complete it by tomorrow.”

Trump further stated, “I am unfamiliar with them; however, I extend my best wishes and extend my respect.”

Savannah, who had been advocating for her parents’ release, expressed her shock and disbelief at the news of their presidential pardon during an Instagram Live on Tuesday, May 27.

“I will always be appreciative of President Trump, his administration, and all those who assisted me, including my lawyers and the individuals who dedicated countless hours, effort, and love to ensure my parents’ safe return,” Savannah continued.  “I am indebted to you for eternity.”

The 27-year-old also released a statement in which she stated, in part: “For the past two and a half years, I have exerted every effort to secure my parents’ release and return them to their homeland.”  This occasion is the fulfilment of numerous petitions, and I am profoundly appreciative of President Trump for acknowledging the truth and reuniting my family.

“Today is a victory for our family; however, the struggle against injustice and wrongful convictions within our prison system is far from over.”  She further stated, “I will persist in utilising my platform and voice to advocate for those who lack them.”  “I will never cease advocating for what is just, as my family is of paramount importance to me.”

On May 28, Grayson also commemorated the announcement with an Instagram post.  “I am unable to find the appropriate words to express my gratitude to President Trump for reuniting my family and bringing my parents home.”  He expressed his gratitude to God, Savannah, Mrs. Alice Johnson, and President Trump once more, expressing his gratitude for 45/47.
