On Thursday morning, a small plane collided with a military housing neighborhood in San Diego, resulting in the deaths of multiple passengers, according to officials. “We are of the opinion that there are multiple fatalities; however, we must proceed cautiously and verify this.” In addition, Eddy stated that the plane disaster did not result in any fatalities, and the injuries sustained were relatively minor. “The positive aspect is that we have not transported anyone off-site from any of these areas at this time,” he stated. “We are conducting a thorough search to ensure that no one is present in any of those residences.”
As a result of the accident, Eddy stated that numerous neighborhoods in the vicinity were evacuated, in part due to fuel spills.”We have jet fuel in abundance,” he stated. “We are currently on the scene with hazardous materials and have requested additional resources to assist us.”
He also mentioned that the residences that were impacted were military accommodations. San Diego Police Chief Scott Wahl described the collision site to reporters, stating that “jet fuel was emitted down the street and everything was on fire simultaneously.” “It was quite distressing to witness,” he stated.
In a statement on X, San Diego City Councilmember Raul Campillo stated that “numerous homes were lost,” but that “no more people are in harm’s way at this time.” “I offer my prayers for the families of the deceased, and we will provide assistance to those who have been impacted in their recovery,” he concluded.

The San Diego Police Department issued a statement on X in which it advised individuals to refrain from visiting the area and stated that additional information would be disclosed as it becomes available. Two local elementary schools were closed for the day, the department added in a subsequent statement.

‘I heard a strange whistling noise, then a boom,’ marine resident says
A marine who lives close to the crash site describes hearing a “strange whistling wheezing noise” followed by a “boom and a shake in the house” in the early hors of the morning.
He went outside to investigate and saw flames, he tells Fox News.
The marine then noticed leaking fuel which was “ignited and going downhill”. He says he began directing neighbours evacuating their homes to go uphill in the opposite direction.
Another witness tells a local NBC news outlet that he felt a loud boom and shaking in the middle of the night.
He says he thought he was experiencing “another earthquake” – a common occurrence in some areas around southern California – but then went outside and realised something else had occurred when he saw homes and cars on fire.
