WHAT IRANIAN ARE SLEEPER CELLS

A warning has been issued by the White House over so-called Iranian “sleeper cells” at the same time as the supreme leader of Iran has threatened “irreparable harm” if the United States joins Israel in its fight.

Iran’s capacity to influence or inspire attacks within the United States has been a source of anxiety for both the Trump and Biden administrations for a considerable amount of time.

Sleeper cells are spies or terrorists who operate in the United States and Western countries but remain inactive until they are essentially directed to act.

In the event that the United States joins Israel in its attacks against Iran, experts believe that they may attempt to activate these cells.

Missile warnings in Israel before talks between Europe and Iran

According to a recent threat assessment conducted by the United States Department of Homeland Security, the intelligence community anticipates that Iran will continue to be the leading sponsor of terrorism and will continue its attempts to develop plots against individuals, including United States officials who are currently serving or who have previously served.

The Department of Homeland Security under Biden’s leadership in 2024 provided guidance that was comparable to this evaluation. According to the experts, the risk is quite probable considering the current escalation that has taken place between Israel and Iran.

The government is thinking to itself, “Okay, we are on our last throes, and as a result, we will go out with a bang, quite literally,” according to Barak Seener, a senior scholar at the Henry Jackson Society.

This is because the crisis in the Middle East is escalating and Iran is being targeted.  In the event that its long-term viability is in jeopardy, its calculations will alter significantly.

Intelligence services in the United States are putting in extra effort to ensure that they are able to combat and minimize any hazards and threats that may arise on their own territory.

The longer this conflict continues, the greater the risk that it poses not just to the security of the United States domestically but also to the security of the United States military and assets in the Middle East.

During the presidential campaign of the previous year, federal prosecutors brought charges against a man who was a member of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard as well as two individuals who were residing in the United States.

These individuals were accused of plotting to target and kill President Trump. According to the information provided by that operator to investigators, officials from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps strongly urged him to plan the operation.

Iran is said to have instructed its proxy groups, such as Hezbollah and Islamic Jihad, to implant sleeper cells in the United States so that they might be activated in support of prospective terrorist activities, according to a national security brief for President Trump that was released in February.

What happens to the sleeper cells if Israel is successful in decapitating the command and control of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps? Do the sleeper cells become more decentralized and atomized as a result of this?

Is it more likely that they will function as lone actors?  Because the regime is in its final race, who is responsible for paying them?

It is a lot more difficult for intelligence and security agencies to monitor and detect who are going to be urgent threats when they are more decentralized and atomized and working as lone wolf actors, as Seener explained. Therefore, all of these problems are important to consider.

The United States is cutting back on health treatment for unauthorized immigrants.

Officials from the United States Central Command have stated that it is highly probable that the Federal Bureau of Investigation is currently monitoring potential threats.

According to Mike Nelson, a retired lieutenant colonel in the Special Forces who has extensive experience working for CENTCOM, Hezbollah has been operating sleeper cells in the western hemisphere for some time, including traveling through Venezuela.

As far as Nelson is concerned, these sleeper cells have been utilized in the past by both Hezbollah and Iran, including the bombing of the Jewish Community Center in Buenos Aires in the year 1994.

It is prudent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation to be monitoring the situation because, as Nelson noted, “it seems likely that (Hezbollah and Iran) would try to activate sleeper cells in the United States as a form of retaliation if the United States joins in the strikes.”

Nelson stated that the Iranian regime’s major interest is to ensure their own existence, and that they want this to come to an end with them in power. Their goal is to avoid the involvement of the United States of America.

If they believe that we are going to get involved, it is highly likely that they will not take any actions that could antagonize the United States.

They could then try to launch asymmetric strikes against the United States of America, which is one of their choices. To put it another way, stimulating sleeper cells within the United States.”
